I asked sales futurist, Dave Brock, what he thinks on the subject.
He believes that Covid has accelerated the changes that were already in play.
Buyer’s were already reengineering the way they buy and we were following and Covid has caused us to move faster.
So many have focussed on how we have gone face to face to virtual but that is only a minor part of it.
“Before covid everybody was talking kind of casually about digital business transformation but we hadn’t moved much. Covid forced both suppliers and customers to confront digital business transformation”.
Dave emphasised “We need to ask ourselves how do we help provide a richer communication experience through the buying journey.
Part of it’s through tools, part through content, part of it’s through problem solving techniques. Part of it is how do we communicate with each other better. And the reality is whether it’s Face-To-Face or virtually behind that, the methodologies we use to engage need to be quite different to what they
might have been two, three or four years ago”.
